Ilim Group wins Logger ’09 competition

  The 10th Oblast Loggers Competition Logger ‘09 was  held in Vikhorevka of the Irkutsk Oblast on July 11.

Over 130 employees of the Siberian logging companies took part in it. Ilim Group was represented by the employees of BU Ilim East logging enterprises: forwarder and harvester operators and fellers from OOO ULiL and OOO IlimSibLes (Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk Districts of the Irkutsk Oblast). Ilim team members came in first in a competition for the operators of John Deer harvesting machines (forwarders and harvesters).

Logger ‘09 professional skills competition was supported by the Irkutsk Oblast Government, the Oblast Timber Industrialists and Timber Exporters Union, and the Bratsk District Administration. Last year was the first to see a competition between short wood truck manipulator operators (up to that point, manual logging was practiced in the competition). This year, operators of up-to-date harvesting units also joined the competition for the first time.
