LOGSET LAUNCHED IT’S NEW 10F TITAN FORWARDER AT THE APF 2010 SHOW IN ENGLAND
Logset have put a lot of effort into R&D recently despite the challenging times throughout the industry. Logset Oy, together with the UK dealer, RJ Fukes Forestry Services, will launched the new Logset 10F Titan forwarder at the APF show on the 23/25th September 2010. The APF show is the international premiere of the 10F Titan forwarder. Logset also introduced new versions of the 8H and 10H harvesters, now equipped with their new TOCMD operating and measuring system. Furthermore, there was a 5F Titan forwarder on display with some new options as detailed below.
The Logset 10F has a load capacity of 18 tonnes.
THE NEW 10F TITAN FORWARDER
Logset’s Titan forwarder series will be completed with a new model. The Logset 10F has a load capacity of 18 tonnes. Previously, Logset launched four Titan models in 2008: the 4F (10 tonnes), 5F (12 tonnes), 6F (13 tonnes) and 8F (15 tonnes).
The Logset 10F Titan forwarders have a new spacious cabin. When it comes to cabin design, special attention has been paid to the ergonomics and user friendliness. The visibility is unobstructed in all directions. The high quality interior, fully automatic climate control and excellent sound insulations guarantee the best possible driver comfort. Storage room in the cabin has been one of the top priorities and still the driver has more than enough space to manoeuvre easily in the wide cabin.
The TOC® control system of the 10F Titan forwarder provides optimal fuel economy and maximum productivity. The TOC system offer versatile driver settings and controls all the main functions, such as the engine, crane, transmission, lights, air conditioning and cruise control as well as some optional functions e.g. PC, cameras, central lubrication and a mobile phone controlled engine heater. The TOC is continuously collecting online information on machine functions; this information is clearly displayed for the operator. The main screen and sub menus are clear and easy to learn. The TOC system together with Agco Sisu engines optimize the fuel injection in accordance with: the prevailing engine load, hydraulic pressure and flow requirements and in all possible circumstances. This provides optimal fuel economy.
The design and structure of the 10F forwarder is exceptionally robust and thus reliable. The 10F Titan has been designed to withstand the hardest conditions in its main markets such as Russia, North America and Latin America. The large load bay, powerful crane and efficient power transmission provide the best possible productivity.
In addition to the new 10F Titan forwarder, Logset will also introduce plenty of new options for our existing machine models. Balancing bogies are available for Logset 5F, 6F and 8F forwarders. The 6F and 8F forwarders can be equipped with 180cc work pump to increase speed and productivity. The 5F, 6F and 8F forwarders are now available as 6 wheeled models. Dippers with internal hosing and electronic dampers can be fitted to all forwarder cranes. Logset will also introduce expandable load bays for the 6F and 8F forwarders. We now have conventional and wireless crane scale options available for all our forwarders.
On the harvester side, the 5H and 8H harvesters now come with 190cc and 210cc work pumps. Other new options include an accumulator for the main lift cylinder, a self levelling kingpost and damping sensors for the slew, main lift, dipper and steering limits.
Logset will also introduce new engine technology. Visitors can learn how the new Tier 3B and Tier 4 emission standards will affect forest machines in 2011 and 2014. Logset will display a new generation engine with AdBlue technology in the tent.
TOC‐MD CONTROL AND MEASURING SYSTEM
As mentioned earlier, our new TOCMD control and measuring system for harvesters will be introduced now in the UK. The new system has been well received by Logset customers internationally. The TOCMD is fully compatible with data transfer software of all leading forest companies. The system has been designed to be simple, productive and operator friendly. Now both forwarders and harvester run the same TOC control system which is convenient for operators, machine owners and technical service. The new 8H and 10H harvesters displayed at the show are fitted with the TOCMD system.
MULTIPLE STEM HANDLING AND ENERGY WOOD
Logset will launch new solutions for multiple stem handling and the harvesting of energy wood. All Logset harvesting heads are capable of multiple stem handling. The TOCMD operating and measuring system has several features which enable fast, automatic harvesting of energy wood. Multiple stem handling can be switched on and off at any point of harvesting. Multiple stem handling can be activated and operated with a one button option only or alternatively with z‐lever, depending on the operator’s preference. In addition, Logset will introduce the new 4L harvesting heads later this fall
