New Head of Marketing at Komatsu Forest

Posted on November 1st, 2010

Timo Ylänen has been appointed the new Head of Marketing at Komatsu Forest. Ylänen will take over from Toshiya Yasukawa, who is to retire this coming spring.

Timo Ylänen is 47 years old and comes from Tampere, Finland. He has broad international experience of the forest machine industry. He is presently CEO of Komatsu Forest’s Finnish subsidiary, Komatsu Forest Oy. Prior to this, he was head of global sales at John Deere, before assuming responsibility for the company’s European dealers.
“For me, this is a dream come true,” says Timo Ylänen. “I look forward to returning to the challenges of working with the global market.”
After three years as CEO of the Finnish subsidiary Komatsu Forest Oy, Ylänen is now moving to Komatsu Forest’s head quarters in Umeå, Sweden, where as head of global marketing he will also join corporate management. Ylänen’s Nordic roots and solid background in forestry are yet further proof of Komatsu Forest’s clear focus on the forest.
