Ferronordic Machines L.L.C. appointed as distributors of Logset forest machines in Russian Federation

Finnish Oy Logset Ab and Swedish-Russian Ferronordic Machines LLC have agreed on Logset forest machine marketing, sales and after sales operations in the territory of the Russian Federation. In June 2010 Ferronordic Machines started as an exclusive distributor of Volvo Construction Equipment in the Russian Federation.

They now  have 30 branches in Russia and, according to their investment plan this will be raised up to 90 by 2015. Volvo base machines are market leaders in CE-products in Russia and our target is to reach that same level with Logset’s CTL-machines by 2015. Ferronordic Machines raised 37 m€ from international institutional investors for strengthening the company’s leading role in Russian CE-markets. The company was established by Mr Erik Eberharson, who was earlier CEO of Volvo in Russia and Chairman of OJSC GAZ.

Ferronordic Machines and Logset will start co-operation immediately and our goal is to deepen this strategic alliance to improve the competitiveness of Logset’s products in Russian markets. The Russian market for CTL-machines exceeded 500 units per year before the crisis. Logset have been exporting machines to Russia since 2004; in addition several Finnish contractors are operating in Russia with Logset machines
