ANZIF Conference planned for Auckland in May
The Joint Institute of Foresters of Australia/NZ Institute of Forestry ANZIF Conference 2011 will be held at the Sky City Conference Centre in Auckland on 2-5 May 2011. The conference, “Pacific Forestry - Growing a Forestry Future” is a conference targeting forestry policy makers, managers and practitioners from the South Pacific region.Foresters from this part of the world have been challenged to lead a step change in the professionalism of forestry and forestry practice in the South Pacific as an example for the rest of the world. Issues such as illegal logging and climate change will be on the agenda, but 2011 is also the UN International Year of the Forest and a strong focus on social, cultural and economic expectations of forests in this region can be expected.
