EWD - Revolutionary new system to guide the sawblade of a bandsaw
Flying BandSawTechnology
This revolutionary new system to guide the sawblade of a bandsaw will bring more life time for
the sawblades, a better sawing accuracy and higher feed speeds. This development paves the way for bandsaw lines into the performance class of modern profiling and circular sawlines, with the advantage of thin saw kerf irrespective of the sawing heights.
Instead of the commonly used pressure guides, two pairs of magnets take care of the true
running of the saw blade.
One pair each is installed just above and below the lumber opening. The attractive forces of
the magnets from both sides keep the saw blade right in the center position. The more the saw
blade deviates to one side, the firmer the magnet with the greater distance pulls the saw back
to center.A sophisticated control system takes care of the centering and true running. When the saw
deviates off center between the magnets, the magnetic field strength must be corrected to pull
the saw back to center. Within milliseconds the position of the saw is analyzed, necessary
reaction and magnetic force are calculated and respectively adjusted. The system operates absolutely reliable in the rough sawmill environment, under all climatic conditions. At our exhibition stand we will give the expert audience from all over the world the possibility to see and test this innovation hands-on.
